футовъ; южныя горы покрыты глубокимъ снфгомъ. Обширные лед-
никЕ н снФга находятся на западной оконечности озера. По сло-
вамъ Гордона, назват!е Баркатъ Яссивъ, которымъ обозначается
это озеро у нЪкоторыхЪ путешественниковъ, собствевно относитея
Kb свалистому ущелью, находящемуся у вачала озера 1).

Паралельно съ Большимъ я Малымъ Памиромъ тянетея ©ъ Bo-
стока на западъ А.'!ПЧУ р вли 'А.ЕИЧОР'Ь ПЁИЛЁЪ; подобно нервымъЪ
и этотъ Памяръ широкъ на восток® и суживается на запад®. Плоская
пустыня Дештъ-и-Харгоши соединялетъ Аличуръ Памиръ съ Большимъ.
Плоскость начинается миляхЪ вЪ двадцати отъ озера Большаго Ца-
мира. Черезъ: нее проходить дорога съ вётвями въ Коканъ H BB
Шарнанъ *), к въ дливу она им%етъ около двадиатн миль. Въ ea
западной оконечности находится стоячее озеро Тузъ или Сассыкъ-
куль. ВОДУ этого озера олисывають соленою; HA BOCTOED изЪ озера
вытекаеть р%ка, впадающая вЪ Яшиль-куль; поел®жнее озеро на

7) Ibd., erp. 229: The Alichor Pimir runs east and west, paralle]l to the
Great and Little Pgmirs. According to Wakhi accounts it is similer in charac-
ter to them, hroad at the eastern, and narrow at the western end. It 18 con-
nected with the great Pdmir_by the <Dasht-i-Khargoshi>, & desert flat which
extends scross from about twenty miles below the Great Pamir lake. A road
passes over it and branches from the Alichdr to Shighndn and Khokand.
The Daght-i-Khargdshi is about twenty miles in length, A stagnant lake
called Thz and Sussik-Kil (salt, putrid lake) lies near the western end. The
water of it way described to me as being salt to the taste..... To the east of
the Sussik-klil a fresh water stream rises and flows into the Yeshil Kil lo-
wer down in the Alichor, from which anether issues und falls into the Murgh-
ab, helow its junction with the АКво.
